About a month ago, I met with ADV filmmaker Sterling Noren about doing a video for the KLR. The concept is basically that two of our guys will ride it for a couple of days on some different terrain and give it a review.
The Kawasaki KLR 650 is a bike that has a reputation as the “gateway drug” for the Adventure Motorcycle culture. Riders with a desire to ride dual-sport can pick one up at a price that’s relatively lower then most entries in the segment and once they’re hooked they move to a BMW GS or KTM 990 and never look back.
Martin stopped by Friday. Earlier this month he flew to Los Angeles from his home in Argentina and bought a 2014 Kawasaki KLR650. This past June, Touratech-USA hosted its fourth annual rally near the sleepy town of Plain, Washington. Like the three years prior, the 2013 Touratech Rally provided participants with an opportunity to ride a variety of roads and trails throughout Washington's beautiful backcountry, as well as learn more about adventure motorcycling.
