Touratech-USA CEO, Paul Guillien and journalist Jonathan Bentman visited Touratech’s headquarters in Germany to see the product line for the new Honda CRF 1000L Africa Twin. As luck would have it, they found the keys to the Touratech-modified test bike and took it for a ride.

The Idaho route is not very technical but sections are long, twisty and rocky.  Our first camp at Trinity Lakes was pretty luxurious with lake, bathroom, running water and fire pit but luckily we were the only visitors at the camp ground.

 I started the process of rejetting my KTM 950 for the altitude, but after dropping and losing a bolt early in the process I decided to just run very rich with the sea-level setting.  Morgan finally made it in later that night from Seattle.

Last weekend over 500 riders descended upon the tiny town of Plain, WA for the 2015 Touratech Rally. This was the fifth year of the rally and what started as an informal gathering of adventure motorcycle enthusiasts has turned into the largest adventure rally on the West Coast.

Earlier this month Touratech-USA CEO Paul Guillien and BMW Owners News Editor, Bill Wiegand traveled to Touratech Spain, borrowed a couple of bikes and rode through Europe to the 2015 Touratech Travel Event in Niederashsch, Germany. Lisa’s hacking cold wasn’t going to stop her enjoying what we are here to see.  The Perito Moreno Glacier and so by 10:00am we’d climbed back into our layers of riding gear, somehow managed to do up the strained buckles on our boots and were waddling downstairs and out to the bikes.
