Touratech Test – 2013 BMW R1200GS

Touratech CEO and reknowned adventure rider, Herbert Schwarz, recently returned from a 1,500-mile motorcycle expedition to Madagascar where he tested Touratech’s line of accessories for BMW’s new water-cooled R1200GS. On this adventure, Herbert put the bike through its paces in a variety of terrain; including asphalt, gravel, sand and mud, as well as numerous water crossings. Watch the video to hear Herbert’s thoughts about riding the new water-cooled GS on the other side of the earth.

And while the new water-cooled R1200GS is a capable adventure bike direct from the dealer, the Touratech accessories Herbert installed provided safe and secure storage, as well as critical protection items to ensure that both he and the bike completed the trip safely.

“From the riding experience, it feels a lot lighter, even though it’s the same weight. I think with the exception of the small fuel tank, it’s really a good adventure bike. It has all the genes from the previous GS model plus the new 125hp engine and new suspension, which makes it the #1 adventure bike on the market.”  – Herbert  Schwarz, CEO, Touratech

Among the parts installed on Herbert’s 2013 R1200GS were Touratech’s new crash bars, hand guards, expedition skid plate, stainless steel headlight guard, radiator guard and a Zega Pro pannier system.
