The SX is the motorcross veiorsn with a close-ration tansmission and suspension set-up for the track. The EXC has a wider ratio tansmission and suspension setup for trail riding the newer EXCs also comes wtih mirrors and blinkers so it is road legal and dual sport. If you wanna trail ride (no roads) then i would suggest the 450 XC or XCW. ( XC- closer ratio tranny and XCW- wide ratio tranny)
