If you are coming in from out of town, arrive the evening of July 11th, we’ll pick you up at the airport and take you to your first night in a high-end Denver hotel (included). We’ll have an incredible welcome meal planned as we all get to know each other and look forward to our week of incredible riding ahead.

Day 1 - July 12

We’ll depart Denver the morning of July 12th headed towards Steamboat Springs. This is our warm-up, welcome to altitude day! We’ll have a beautiful, easy road ride up to Steamboat to get acclimated to the bikes and being at altitude (drink lots of water). Great dinner and rest that evening in Steamboat, then we’re off to hit the trails of the COBDR!

Day 2 - July 13

Leaving Steamboat that morning, we’re headed to Gypsum, CO. We’ll travel 121 miles and see Stagecoach Reservoir, several parts of the Colorado river, and a historic stage stop along this beautiful route. We’ll spend the night in our hotel that evening and wake up ready to tackle day three!

Day 3 - July 14

Day three has us hitting the road for an incredible 136 mile ride to Buena Vista. If you’ve ever ridden in Colorado, you know the kind of varied terrain we’re in for on this section. We’ll ride a sandy two track area, travel over 3 alpine passes, and take in a few beautiful treed roads near Sylvan Lake.

Day 4 - July 15

After waking up in Buena Vista, we’re off to Lake City. This is our longest day at 144 miles. Day four travels a bit faster than the previous so don’t let the higher mileage scare you. We’ll transverse Cottonwood pass, Cumberland pass, take in Pitkin (a great little mining town), Wantiua pass, and Slumgullion pass. It’s a great ride with lots to see!

Day 5 - July 16

Get ready for the San Juan mountains! Southwestern Colorado riding at it’s finest. This 64 mile journey to Telluride is packed full of non-stop views. We’ll have plenty of dramatic scenery, beautiful vistas, ghost towns to explore, and switchback roads to test your skills. This section is a definite highlight of our trip.

Day 6 - July 17

By day six you will be feeling the excitement of having just ridden one of the most scenic rides in the world. We’re ending our COBDR route today as we travel approximately 90 miles to Cortez. This final route takes us by Groundhog reservoir along some nice two-track roads. We’ll talk about all that we saw and experienced this evening as we dine out and rest well.

Day 7 - July 18

It’s back to Denver day. We’ll head out early on our way back to Denver on this beautiful 330 mile road ride that takes us across Wolf creek pass, up highway 285 and back into Denver. We’ll arrive back at our luxurious hotel to a warm welcome home dinner so we can share stories (mostly true) about our adventure and plan next year’s trip. You’ve made it. You just taken in one of the most beautiful, scenic rides in all of the world.
