Join us at South Sound BMW on Saturday, April 13th for an evening with London-based writer and Sahara specialist, Chris Scott. Chris is the author of the legendary Adventure Motorcycling Handbook (AMH), now in it’s third decade of publication. He’s also Britain’s foremost authority on travel across the Sahara - a desert the size of the United States. His first Saharan adventure took him to Algeria in 1982 aboard a ratty Yamaha XT500 and the following 30 years of desert biking will be the subject of Chris’ presentation. It includes rides in Algeria, Mali, Niger, Mauritania, Morocco and Libya where Chris still occasionally run tours, and covers his ambitious Desert Riders Project from 2003 where huge 10-gallon tanks and buried fuel caches saw the team stretch nearly 2000 kilometres from their Honda XR650Ls between towns.
