For a high-performance off-road motorcycle like the KTM 950 Super Enduro (SE), KTM sure skimped on the rear shock. For the weight and power of the SE, the OEM shock is severely undersized, and underperforming. Touratech knew the KTM needed a special shock that could match the brute strength of the 950SE. When we asked our shock developers for the absolute highest performance shock they could imagine, they created the Touratech Extreme. If NASA built suspension for the KTM Super Enduro they’d be happy with this one.
Touratech Suspension is the world’s first purpose-built shock absorber for long-distance touring with a fully-loaded motorcycle. Right out of the box, it has the strength, features and adjustments to go the distance on an adventure or touring bike carrying luggage. The Extreme Shock is the ultimate in suspension technology, and the ideal choice for extended trips or off-road rides like a Backcountry Discovery Route. For the rider who wants absolute control over suspension set-up and high performance, this is the product.

This map highlights the best paved roads in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina. Roads like “The Tail of the Dragon” and Cherehola Skyway are just the tip of the iceberg. The Butler Maps team rode over 30,000 miles into every nook and cranny of the region in search of not only the popular rides but the obscure backroads that only the most seasoned locals know about. All of them are on this map.
If your GS came equipped with Dynamic ESA from the factory and you would like to install the manually adjustable Touratech Extreme suspension, you will want to install this disable unit for each shock to ensure fault codes are not set in your computer. This also guarantees that the riding modes ASC, ABS and DTC continue to operate perfectly.
If your water-cooled R1200GS didn't come from the factory with Dynamic ESA, or you just want to switch to a manually adjustable shock, the Touratech Extreme shock is the best performing, and most durable shock on the market. Combine this PDS “bottoming control technology” with a remote reservoir, fully adjustable high and low-speed compression damping, adjustable rebound damping, remote reservoir, low friction seals and 50% more preload adjustment than other shocks on the market and you begin to see why this is the shock of choice for R1200GS riders who want the ultimate in performance.

If you ride in dry and dusty conditions, a foam air filter is a must. Nothing protects your engine against small particles, dust, and sand as well as an oiled foam UNI filter. A stock paper filter just can't stand up to the kind of dirt and abuse of a long off-road adventure while giving proper airflow and performance.
