A nasty fall and the LC 8's rear brake cylinder is damaged. And in normal use the clear window will become scuffed from your boot after the first ride. Simple protection that is quick and easy to fit.
There are two things I automatically buy for my 990's when I get a new one... A new skid plate and a Brake Cylinder Guard. Touratech's guard has been on the past three 990's I've owned. It's a must for anyone who goes off the pavement.

Much like the Folding Brake Pedal Kit (http://www.touratech-usa.com/shop/show.lasso?sku=370-0270) a brake cylinder guard is a good bit of insurance. Especially when KTMâs design leaves the reservoir hanging out there begging for off-road damage. Riding without a rear brake isnât necessarily a day-ender on a small bike, but big bikes push a lot more under front braking and most days we can do without that challenge.
