The R1150GS exhaust system includes a front silencer (with catalytic converter inside) as a separate part from the rear silencer. Thus you can either replace the front silencer or the rear silencer individually (for a better sound and look). Front silencer replacement part (with Kat) is item 040-3203. For off-road use, many customers are replacing the front muffler(kat) with item 040-3202 y-pipe which reduces weight but does not offer pollution reduction.
