I used to use an old, flattened Bud Light can that I found at a rest stop (there is a use for Bud Light after all), the can was tied to a piece of string. Although a conversation piece, it's use was limited. This foot enlarger makes life a lot easier. It's easy to install and a solid piece of kit. One caveat, if the larger foot catches on anything while in gear, the engine will cut out because of the automatic side-stand engine kill. It happened to me at a traffic light while "foot paddling" the bike forward in gear with the clutch in, my boot caught the larger footplate. Something to be aware of.

An absolute necessity for touring offroad or camping outside of RV camps. I camped at Yosemite, where the parking was on forest dirt, before I got one of these. Wrong! The day I got home I ordered one.
