Rally-style single seat functions well for long distance riding and technical, high speed rally riding. The top of the seat is flat and bench-like with a very thick cover and strong foam. This seat is similar to the ones used on the Touratech Dakar rally team's bikes. Shape allows more front to back movement when standing up on the pegs. This is a front seat only, no pillion accomodation - stock pillion seat no longer fits. For riders going off alone this is a firm, yet comfortable seat that leaves lots of room in back to strap down dry bags, tires, extra fuel and anything else you need to carry. This seat fits the original R1100GS or R1150GS 22L BMW tank and the Touratech 41L tank. Seat is about the same height as the stock R11xxGS seat in the up position (approx. 86cm/34in.).
