Whether on-road, off-road or in a parking lot this is an expensive and inconvenient part to have broken. This combination of headlight guard and glare shield provides the best combination of lamp protection and nighttime visibility.
Our super-tough, crystal clear shatterproof headlight guard made from Macrolon provides full coverage for the headlight. It is spaced slightly away from the lens to allow for air to circulate and cool the lamps. The headlight guard attaches easily to the bike with special Touratech-designed, laser-cut stainless steel brackets that mount to the sides of the bike using the mounting points for the indicators.
This rigid Macrolon plastic part matches the outline of the R1200GS headlights and its clear material makes it nearly invisible. This kit is compatible with the stock windscreen.

I have this guard on my 05 R1200GS and it works great to protect the light. It was easy to install but now that the quick release guard is available I would HIGHLY recomend getting the quick release version. With this on being hard mounted, it is very hard to clean the headlight lense, that is why I gave it 3 stars. The good news is that the quick release parts are sold seperatly so I can upgrade mine!
