I put a set of these bar risers on my bike right away because I really like to get the ergonomics set up properly for my style of riding. When I am standing up and riding, which is a lot of the time, I like to be relatively straight up in my back, without the slightest hunch, and these bar risers give me the extra few inches to do that. Installation was not that hard, but I did install them upside down the first time, and then i realized that was wrong.
