Description
If you encounter mud, the clearance between the front wheel and mudguard is not enough for the tire to clean itself. The result: the front wheel gets "caked up", and in an extreme case may stop the wheel.
This height increase gives the tire as much space as is technically possible - so there's room for the dirt to fly off and drop away from the tire. The mudguard height increase makes the bike more functional and look more "off-road appropriate" as well.
