Questions about this product?
F650 GS / Dakar chain guide. The F 650 GS is not provided with a chain guide to force the chain to align with the sprocket under all conditions. In extreme off-road conditions, or when the chain is loose, or worn out, this becomes more important, for the bike, and for the safety of the rider. Prevent the chain from coming off, ever. Very important for long-distance travels where it may be required to use a very worn chain beyond normal service limits. Increases safety of the chain drive system by blocking entry of a foot or hand into the sprocket in event of a crash. Cannot be installed with original black plastic chain cover.
  • Fits BMW F650GS (single cyl.), G650GS, Dakar & Sertao

This was the second most difficult piece of equipment I have put on the bike, hardest was the springs on the center stand. The problem is two fold, one the bracket fits very tight on the rear swing arm, precision bends in bracket might be off a bit. The spacer that goes on the long bolt is too fat and will not fit. I will need to but a small piece of pipe that is smaller outer diameter or file off part of the alluminum to make it fit. Even with this once it was on looks, good, road the bike looks like it will do the job. Reason of putting one on is I have a KTM EXC 520 has chain guide that is essentially when you run your chain loose enough to use all the suspension. We will see how it work after a few thousand miles. First touratech piece I have had that really did not fit well.

Well I have about 10,000 miles on the bike so far, Chain guide is worth it. Let's you keep the chain much looser, better for rough riding. Now looking for better quality rear sprocket and chain.
