The rack is made of 18 mm stainless steel tubing and is attached to existing mounting points. Passenger comfort is not restricted in any way.

I have these panniers installed on my 2008 990Adv but I have the stock ktm rack. The panniers are amazing. If you have seen the Washington Backcountry Discovery Route film then you have seems these things crunched into logs and rocks and survive with a little pounding back into shape. The aluminum is flexible but durable. If you are far from home and drop your bike you'll wish you had these instead of the plastic cases available out there. The Touratech rack is designed to keep these panniers at a better angle which keeps the lowest point higher off the ground. The entire system is well designed and worth the money for sure.
