Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Crash Bars -

A simple fall on the Triumph Explorer can turn into a serious expense in both time and money replacing plastic body panels. If your motorcycle tips over, no matter the road or conditions, you'll want full protection between the expensive plastic fairings, engine, and the ground.  For the most complete protection of your Explorer's engine and fairings, install a set of Touratech stainless steel crash bars.

Made of stout 1 inch thick stainless-steel tubing, Touratech crash bars are designed to take the impact of a fall and distribute the force around the frame and engine, protecting both the engine and your expensive plastic fairing pieces.  Our designers have done an excellent job of keeping the bars compact while complimenting the overall lines of the Triumph 1200.  These bars give the Tiger Explorer an off-road adventure style image that can't be ignored.

With their bright electro-polished finish, you'll never have to worry about rust, or paint flaking off after a fall.

Note: Not compatible with Triumph Accessory aluminum skid plate or light bar.

Fitting these was a bit of a wrestling match. The lower mounting points on the bars seemed to be about 2 mm too far aft and I had to bend the lower portion of the bars down to get them to line up with the fastener holes even in a slack state (at least for my bike). Note: the nuts on the back side of the engine mounts need an 18mm deep throat socket. You will also need a wobble drive and 12" to 16" socket extensions for access. Also, the upper left engine mount on the back side is the correct mounting location for the welded bracket (the instructions indicate the incorrect location). With the right tools, you do not need to disassemble anything on the bike for installation. Once the bars are on, they look and feel smashingly tough! The bead blasted stainless is a nice look and should be uber durable. The bars match the lines of the bike body work perfectly. They also provide upper and lower protection...most others only protect one area, thus requiring two sets for full protection. Because of that, these end up being a good value. -1/2 star for the mismatch of the lower mounting points, but that still rounds up to a 5!
