Many Garmins have the capability to transfer waypoints, tracks, and routes from one GPS to another. This can be done in the woods, away from computers. Fits most Garmins that have the standard Garmin 4-pin round plug.
NOTE: Even though it fits the Garmin GPS V, the
:software system of the GPS V is not able to transfer data directly to/from another GPS . For the GPS V, you must use a computer to transfer data between GPS units.
ALSO, many of the newer GPSs have a much larger tracklog capacity than older models. If you try to transfer a tracklog from a newer GPS to an older GPS, it will probably cut the tracklog at the point where the older GPS is "full".
