  • Synopsis

You will find the Hard Part LA very easy to install. It's function is to provide a primary steering-stop that protects the steering top-clamp from breakage in a fall.

    1) Separate the hard Part LA into two parts.
    2) Attach the two parts around the 1100 telelever arm.
    3) Tighten the screws.

    Steering stop (R1100GS)

    Contents:
    1 Pre-assembled Hard Part LA
1 German instruction sheet with photos

    Assembly:
Look at the photo in the TOURATECH instruction sheet. You first disassemble the Hard Part LA into two parts then reassemble around your Telelever. No permanent modifications are required to attach the Hard Part LA.

Loosen all eight countersunk hex screws, but remove the lower screws and the lower plate. Place the upper plate assembly (with the side-bumpers) on top of the Telelever as shown in the photo above. The top plate has a radius which butts up against the washer on top of the telelever to prevent the Hard Part LA from sliding forward. Re-attach the lower plate and tighten all eight hex screws.

Remember to check all screw connections before riding, then check again after a few miles.
