Honda XR250

Attachment to the dirtbike is behind the crossbar - bolted to the forward-left handlebar clamp bolt. A longer bolt is required, see GC45MB for exposed bolt heads, or GCMXB (with spacer) for bolts in wells.

This is currently the best general RAM setup for using the GPSIII and GPSV on dirtbikes because it allows for best screen angle adjustment (sitting and standing).

To get KIT prices: Kit GR3H comes with GRAD, GR3CR, GRANA and GRAH. Add additional parts GRAB9 and GC45MB. You will end up with an extra part, the GRAH which can be used on other motorcycles. If you have a recessed handlebar clamp bolt you may need item GCMXB instead of GC45MB. Or buy GR3S + GRAB9 + GC45MB then you will have a suctioncup for the truck window.

Honda XR400

The GPSmap176 on a Honda XR400. Will work same with 276C, 376C.

The big-screen 176 barely fits between the bars & numberplate on this small dirtbike.

Photo 2 is aCloseup of the 176 using a GRAB bolted to the backside of the original 176 cradle (included with package from Garmin). GRANA normal arm connects to the right-angle ball "grab11" bolted to the lower side of the top clamp.

Honda CRF-250X

The color screen GPS60 on a LOCKING touratech mount (065-0077). This mount bolts directly to the 1/2 inch crossbar.

Photo2 is the 065-0077 with no GPS. Note: this mount holds the powercable in place, when you put the GPS into the mount, it is powered up.

Photo2 is a closeup of the "gr3h" on an XR250. In this photo, it appears the tightening knob is touching the crossbar. Actually it's not. But the reason we mention it is that you have to be careful to allow the GPS to be suspended on the two rubber balls, to protect the electronics for vibration. No part of the mount (past the first ball) should be adjusted such that it's touching the motorcycle.

Suzuki DR650

RAM mount parts on a Suzuki DR650.

Universal fit covers many many applications!. The RAM grab11 (11mm hole) on the handlebar pinchbolt of a Suzuki DR650. Clamp arm is GRANA.

The diamond shaped plate is item# "grad" and it fits all the RAM cradles for most popular GPSs (all Garmins and more).

Honda XR400

Here's an old eMap on a RAM mount clamped outboard of the crossbar on a Honda XR400, next to the front brake master cylinder.

Notice that the GPS mount easily pushes out of the way (adjusted for friction) to open the BarPack map holder.

If I need to see the GPS in front of the map I just push it back over the map. This method works especially well with the new graphic GPSs where you look at the little map on the screen then instantly locate the same area on your big map (we don't need no stinking numbers....).

We ride hard with the mount set for friction (a little loose) and at this setting it never slips while riding. Of course you can crank it tighter, if you want (unnecessary).

We do this all day long (twice per map opening) and the friction never changes even after many days. So far there's no visible wear showing on the hard rubber ball (or the aluminum clamp).

In addition, the plastic cradle which is tightly fitted to each specific GPS is extremely tough, virtually unbreakable. Also notice there is an extra set of mounting holes to provide other mounting options. The other parts (clamps etc) are cast aluminum. We've found the RAM system to be as close to bulletproof as you can get.

KTM 640 LC4 Adventure

The TOURATECH 065-0055 (for 176 MvG) on the KTM roadbook support.

The KTM Adventure roadbook support (the black pipe in the photo) is KTM item# 582.12.090.144 available from the KTM dealer. The 065-0055 mounts directly to this support (12mm diameter).

The item to the left of the GPS is a standard enduro rollchart holder.

Yamaha FJ-1100

RAM eMap mount (GREMH) on an FJ1100 using a "GRAHEX" on the (drilled) topclamp spindle nut.

This method can be used on almost any mototcycle that has a cap-nut on the steering spindle.

Triumph Sprint

RAM eMap mount on John Gross' Triumph Sprint, using the basic "gremh" mount with a modified "grad" diamond base.

The "grad" diamond base has been modified, with one 'ear' cut off and filed round, then sandwiched under the tank's mount bolt.

Triumph Speed Triple

eTrex Vista on a Touratech eTrex mount looks clean and simple on a Triumph Speed Triple, using a single loop clamp around the handlebar.

Kawasaki ZX9R

Here is the is a Garmin GPSV on a Touratech GPSV mount. The Touratech mount is intended for a 1/2" dirtbike crossbar, but fits perfectly on this fairing brace.

Aprilia Falco

Scott's Aprilia Falco using the Ram cradle for the GPSVwith the long clamp arm. Attachment to the motorcycle is thru the spindle with GCREDS.

Honda Fireblade

TOURATECH GPS V mount (065-0022) on a Fireblade fits perfectly on the fairing brace: looks right at home with other trick CNC aluminum bits.

Ducati ST-4

RAM GPSV mount (gr3h) on an ST-4.

To mount on his ST-4, Mark Jensen removed the cap from his clutch clamp and replaced it with the RAM part, using longer bolts.

Suzuki Hayabusa

GRAHEX on a Hayabusa. Attached using a threaded stainless steel rod thru the steering spindle with washers at ends (11.25" long). We have 12" threaded rod in stock (GCREDS).

Here's how it looks from the bottom (looking up, above the front fender). The washers can be centered, but this photo was taken in haste.

BMW K1200RS

Tom Nault used the "grah" with a larger U-bolt around the left handlebar. He's using black tape to protect the finish.

BMW R1150GS

Mr. Sampson used a RAM 'grsp3h' to adapt his GPS176 to his R1150GS.

For the GPS176 you can use either the 'grsp3h' or the 'gr176h'. We prefer to use the GRSP3H with the Garmin gradle, because the Garmin cradle has a locking feature.

The "Garmin" mount is included in the 176 package. Note the circular swivel joint just below the GPS. To minimize the mount, this 'angle adjust' and swivel part of the Garmin mount can be removed, if desired and then the RAM grsp3h will attach directly to the Garmin's GPS cradle.

BMW R1100GS

The Touratech GPSV mount is designed to be used on the 1/2" crossbar as on the R1100GS.

Jos Timmermans removed the base plate and created a new custom plate to move his Touratech GPSIII mount forward of the handlebar.

BMW F650GS

The Touratech GPS176 mount 065-0041 installed on F650GS. Scott Baker has installed Magura X-line handlebars and TOURATECH 040-0601 crossbar (320mm) on his F650GS.

'99 BMW R1100S

The RAM GPSV mount (gr3h) with a "grab11" and a longer bolt + spacer.

Shown at full left turn, the bolt and ball are fairly close to the tank, but not touching.

BMW R1150GS

For testing purposes, a customer came by our shop and mounted the Touratech GPS176 mount (065-0041) in two different configurations. At left it is attached to a RAM (grbh) system to be visible above a tankbag. At right the (old style) 065-0041 is attached directly to the 12mm crossbar.

"GRAH" ball mount (included with "grbh" and most other RAM handlebar mounts) comes with a U-bolt to go around any bar. But this customer doubled it ontop of the handlebar clamp. It works in this case because the GS handlebar is swept back on this large motorcycle. This method won't work on dirt-bikes where the crossbar is directly above the center.

The bolts and spacers necessary are qty2 of item "GCMXB" ($10/ea). The cast holes in GRAH must be enlarged slightly with a file.

Yamaha FJR1300

This customer used parts "GRAD", "GRASA"; and "GRAB" to mount his radio on an aftermarket shelf..

The Delphi XM radio cradle has the standard four-hole military pattern (1-1/2 X 1 3/16) that matches item GRAB.

For a complete handlebar mount that includes item "GRAB", use item GRSP3H.

Photo 2 shows the Delphi XM radio with a modified StreetPilot 2610 SunShade (065-0405). Modification is easy, just crease the plastic stiffener (at the red lines in the photo) to match the shape of the radio. Notice that the sunshade also functions as a "hold-down strap" to keep the radio firmly anchored in its cradle.

Kawasaki ZX-9R

GRA2X6, grana, grab11, GCREDS shown without the devices. This ZX-9R owner may cut the 2"X6" plate a little narrower. He plans to use plastic-interlock (like velcro) to hold the devices to the plate.

The 6" wide plate cleared 100% with steering lock-to-lock, and from riding position, the guages are in full view. Plus, it's quick-release, leaving just the "GRAB11" ball on the steering spindle.

Ducati ST-4

A customer mounted a GRAB9 on each side of his Ducati ST-4 under the mirror mount. He had to cut away some of the rubber gasket. It's used for a camera on one side and Radar detector on the other side.

BMW R1150R

GPS 176 sitting in it's own (garmin) cradle, mounted with a GRSP3H. 376 and 376 will mount exactly the same.

Honda VFR800

A Garmin Streetpilot mounted with the Short Arm GRASA to a GRAB11. GRAB11 is held on by a stainless steel threaded rod (GCREDI) that goes completely thru the VFR steering spindle with a nut on the top and bottom.

Ducati Multi-Strada

Buell XB12X

The Enduro Engineering adapter makes it simple to attach Touratech mounts to bikes fitted with Pro-taper or Magura bars. This sturdy, adjustable adapter also leaves room for steering dampers.

Kawasaki KLR 650

GRAB9 fits nicely on the KLR under the mirror stem. The GRAB9 ball sits on a 45 degree post, which is more desirable for situations where the RAM clamp arm will be angled more or less 45 degrees.

The GRAB9 has a 9mm hole, which must be enlarged slightly to fit the 10mm KLR mirror stem.

Kawasaki KLR 650

GRAB11 fits nicely on the KLR under the mirror stem. The GRAB11 ball sits on a VERTICAL post, which is more desirable for situations where the RAM clamp arm will be more vertical upward. The GRAB11 has an 11mm hole, so a 10mm washer should be added for use on the 10mm KLR mirror stem.
